Windows 7 Quick Tip: Hide or show empty drives
In the Computer folder of Windows 7 you can see all the drives connected to your computer, like external hard drives, dvd-roms, memory cards, cameras etc. However, anything that’s empty, like memory card readers, will not show up. In this quick tuto we show you how to show or hide your empty drives.
We like it but if you don’t you can easily get them back by following 2 easy steps.

Step 1.
Press the ‘alt’ key on your computer. In the top left corner of the window you’ll see the old options menu system used in XP. Select the “Tools” menu option and from the flydown menu select the “Folder options…” option.

Step 2.
In the pop-up box, select the “View” tab and scroll down until you find the “Hide empty drives in the Computer folder” field and uncheck it.

You will now be able to see all the drives connected to your computer, whether they’re empty or not. If you want to hide them again, simply repeat the process and check the field again.
